Boros was a third baseman who played 7 seasons in the majors, including 4 with the Tigers. Despite his power surge in 1962, his best season was probably 1961 when he batted .270 with 62 RBI in 116 games. After leaving the Tigers, he set a Cincinnati Reds team record with 50 consecutive errorless games at third base. He later went on to manage the Oakland A's and the San Diego Padres during the 1980s.
