"Ear Gauging"?
I do believe its called stretching your earlobes, and tapers are horrible for stretching your ears!
They lead to blow outs and all kinds of problems.

I've never had a problem using tapers. My ears are a zero. Also, I did a lot of reading on the subject and helped other people with their ears.

You've done a lot of reading on the subject? Then why use the wrong terminology for stretching your earlobes? A gauge is a unit of measurement that generally measures the thickness of jewelry.

have you ever tried the taping method? Its much easier, healthier and better for your lobes because you stretch the piercing in very small increments whereas with a taper you just bluntly stretch and most people shove them into their ears until they rip and cause pain, which shouldn't happen if your stretching correctly.

I used the wrong terminology, so sue me! Are you so perfect that you never make a mistake? And I've never just "shoved" a taper thru my ear. If there is pain, you stop. it took me a long time to get the zero thru my ears. I also use a stretching balm that's 100% natural. And if there's ever blood, you stop totally and let that ear heal before trying again. I've seen some "pros" use an ear punch, that can cause more problems and pain than tapers.

and tapers don't give blow outs if you know what you are doing.. I'm in the process of stretching/gauging my third piercing I'm currently at 14g. my second lobe piercing is at 4g. and my first lobe piercing is at 1/2 in :) I never had any problems using tapers either.

You both are dangerously uneducated on stretching, especially if you can't even use the right terminology.
I hope your ears don't get blown out and infected.
Hate to see such young people so ignorant to the damage their causing to their own bodies.
