Description

The listing, Ancient Roman Ring Spiral design Copper 1000+ years old has ended.

Free for the taking is my very old ring , I have had this for many years, I was told that it was ancient and from a roman territory. I think it is made from copper and it has a spiral design, I was told it meant something but now I forget what it was... I have worn this ring, it isn't brittle, I am not sure what size it is, but I included a pic of it with measuring tape so you can have some idea.. It is a neat very old item, I am sure you will love it... Shipping is free !! US only

I want to add that I think this is copper , But I really don't know for sure , I got this from a guy who owed me some cash and he got it from his grandpa and didn't know much about it. But I guess it could be Brass or something..Is there anyone who knows for sure ?

I did some research and the spiral symbol was sometimes used to symbolize the universal pattern of growth and evolution , it has also been used for healing purposes .. So maybe this is some kind of magic healing ring? That would be cool..

looks like those ones you get in gumball machines in the 1960's. Very similar, made from cheap copper, most were patterned like that, almost like a decoder ring knock off. Even the spiral, it might be from a sci-fi TV show

can you link us to a site that might show these rings you speak of? I certainly don't know the history of this item, but it feels much older, It might be bronze , I was searching the internet trying to find out more about it and it looks like most are bronze, and they look similar.

the band is too sharp, rings older (pre 1100 AD) were cast and thicker and the design was etched

I just did a Google image search for Bronze Ring and I saw many ancient examples that were similar , but most were etched like you say , but I don't think that means they all were, some even have stones.

That is what I was originally thinking too, but when I look at bronze rings on other auction sites , they do look similar to this one..
