Do they stay closed in terms of the hinges and the catch? Do you think they could stand up to using in a purse for Advil?

How old is your mother because I thought these were like old old From the 1800's or something

My mom passed away over 16 years ago and at that time she was 80 yrs old. Yes these are old tins , but the date I couldn't tell ya. These tins were not hers. The ones she carried probably were not as old as these . Sorry I can't help you with the dates on these.
