10 seeds. Good germination, then they vine very quickly in hot weather. The vines scamper up trees... or whatever you give them for support... I had fun with them on a Norfolk Pine. The fruit hung near the trunk of the tree and some people thought the pine tree had grown these strange fruit that hang down like Xmas ornaments. They would stop to ask what kind of tree it was. The fruit has a cucumber, banana, lemon flavor and the shells can make interesting serving bowls. The melons were seen on Star Trek as an alien fruit... I let a few fruit fall under the tree, it was on a sprinkler system, and when the summer gets warm enough the seeds sprout on their own the next year.
