The listing, 1916 love letter "My Darling Lillie" has ended.
This is a letter written in pencil from "D.C.M." (Daniel C.Morris, according to the other things I found) to "My Darling Lillie" his wife/wife-to-be. In the top left is "White City 6/16" then "193" - I am not sure what the last number means.
In the letter D.C.M. urgently asks why he hasn't received a reply to his letters. "It has been more than two weeks since I heard from you & it seems to me like 2 months.." "...all your wishes shall be granted if in my power to do so. Will meet you at home or any place you mention at any time you say..." The letter is signed at the end "with lots of love & kisses I am your true love, D.C.M." Charming and beautiful! The pencil has faded and the urgent handwriting is illegible in a few places; the letter is lovely to read and reminds the reader of what it's like to be head over heels in love. This will be a cherished piece to add to your collection.
