So let me get this right? You plug the male headphone jack into the MP3 player and the other male jack into the transmitter and it plays the songs on your MP3 player through broadcasting it on a radio station that you dial in on your car radio?

No ,the cord is just to download music into the MP3 ( or you can download via SD card ). Than once you have downloaded the music than you insert the mp3 player via cigarette lighter in yr car . Tks for asking
