ashleymariebadillo betas don't need a filter to survive, goldfish don't have stomachs so you have to feed them 2-3 times a day & have a filter to keep up with the waste where as betas only need fed 2 times a week. Changing out the water every day can actually hurt the fish because you don't allow the tank to cycle so if you win this I would suggest a 1/3 water change once a week & be sure to use a de-chlorinater. This is a great auction these cost about $20-$30 in the pet store I used to manage just for the tank.

does it need a water filter cause im trying to do fish and two out of three goldfish died because i din't have a filter but i change the water every day

Ashleymariebadillo, your problem is probably that you are changing your water everyday or your water just isn't treated properly. Goldfish (like Betas) don't actually need a filter to survive.

Thanks you guys for the tip...never knew that about goldfish or betas...maybe it is a good thing I don't have fishes as pets...since I love to eat my raw fish... :-) btw, nice auction

Fact: Goldfish can survive well and healthy eating once a day and need no filter but is nice to have one to keep tank crystal clear at all times... ;D nice auction...
