its a tropical plant and is very sensitive to frost. it can also take up to two years to bloom so if your in a place with cold winters i would try and grow it indoors for that time being then once its good and strong it may survive below freezeing.

I plated some seeds a few years ago and i think they are a little different from yours in the shape of the base of the flower, but it is a hawaiian woodrose. it does make a gorgeous vine! It took a few years to bloom and i have not gotten any seed pods, but the flowers (unlike the morning glory) last all day. I dug up part of the root of my original plant and planted it in another part of my yard and it is growing like mad. It dies back in the winter here in Charleston SC but our winters havent killed them yet. And bugs don't seem to eat them! Highly recommend it. Specially if you don't have a green thumb like me.

awesome! i just started with these. im still worried the winter might kill it. did you start them in the spring? im thinking i might grow it indoors through the winter then replant it in spring so its good and strong by the next winter.
