The listing, Necklace, Silver-toned w/Tiny Perfume Bottle has ended.

This item is quite unique and very pretty. A silver-toned necklace 34" long with a 2 3/4" glass bottle hanging from the chain enclosed in a silver-toned, woven metal basket. It has a little stopper lined in cork that plugs the top of the bottle. These were once worn by people like Lucretia Borgia. She put poison into the bottle on her necklace or into a poison ring. It was her favorite way in which to introduce poison into the systems of her enemies.
This is really beautiful. Now, you would use it with your favorite scent enclosed safely in the little bottle.
Such necklaces were also worn during plague times by the rich who often carried hankies onto which they would pour scent from their bottles to deflect the stench of the Medieval streets.
So, with this necklace you are almost buying a relic of the past, but it is done in a very modern and new style. Made by Jewel Mint.
