All my auctions are wysiwyg (what you see is what you get). I will be away tonight and tomorrow, returning Saturday evening. I can probably get online at some point, but won't be able to respond to comments as quickly as usual.

Funny story ... I ordered some more of those glass animal beads everyone loves from a guy on ebay. Turns out he's getting out of the biz so he shipped me a 17-pound box of many kinds of beads! They are wonderful, but I can't use that many beads in 10 lifetimes. So, I will be offering LARGE lots of these beads, BIG variety including pink-ribbon (breast cancer) beads, millefiore and other glass, coin-shaped, all sorts of variety.

Please, GET SOME AUCTIONS going to build up some credits, you do NOT want to miss these! so watch my auctions at http://www.listia.com/profile/auctions/28303.

Thanks, these would work really well with the native american stuff. They are nice large unusually chunky chips. Sorry about the typing, using a mini laptop, an old one I got at an auction. Works great but I hate mini keyboards. Writing these comments is taking me forever ... probably wait until I get home to write more ...

They are cool, but can I offer a little advice? Start your bids at an odd number, and start them low. If you can get people with under 50 credits to get the bidding started, the people with more credits to spend will take notice that other people have already bid. Also, offer free shipping, honestly you'll get TONS more bids. I know it stinks to pay for the shipping, but small things can be shipped with three stamps (I actually bought $1 and 28cent stamps to ship small packages). You get it back when you win things with free shipping. Hope this helps ...

Good luck, it's a lot of work but you can get better results once you have the routine down.

Your auctions look good, but unfortunately most Listia members won't bid on small items that do not have free shipping. I understand why you don't want to do that, but the problem is that if you do get some bids, your nice things will go for so little it may not be worth the effort. At least with free shipping you can get a lot more credits. It's really an investment. I've probably spent close to $200 in stamps in the past month (I ship a LOT of stuff), but just this week won several very nice pieces of gold and precious stone jewelry, worth a lot more than what I've paid in shipping. So, you have to put it in to perspective and look at the long-term benefits.

Nancy, you are so right. You have to spend some on shipping to get the points for nice things. I won't get most things that charge me shipping.

It's kind of a long-term investment. Pay for shipping now, and try to win things with enough value (to you) to make up for it. That's kind of where I'm at. Listia is really fun, but I'm doing it to try to earn something of value for all my effort. The things I'm giving away don't matter to me, because they would be too difficult to sell for the $$$ amount they are worth. Listia gives the little unwanted things a whole new level of value, which is nice!

I really like these to go with a snow obsidian dangle that I bought. The only problem I'd have is that it's a chip, not to downgrade the beauty. A smoky quartz bead or 50, on the other hand, would be PERFECT.

The problem with larger beads in these types of materials is that they are REALLY expensive. I'm sure they vary in price depending on the quality and cuts of the stone, but it must be expensive to cut stones into shapes for beads. These chips aren't that cheap either, but are probably leftover from some sort of process that creates the chip shards, and all they have to do is drill holes in them. Shaping stones into beads MUST be labor intensive!

I can see that. The good stuff is seldom cheap. Sometimes a person gets lucky, right? Hehe My "Snow Obsidian Project" will probably take a while to find the right pieces.

I haven't really shipped beads in a long time, but I bought some large amethyst nugget beads, love them, but have tried to use them multiple times and am just never happy with the design. I think five of them cost about $20, on ebay. I've got a couple people from craigslist interested in the beads I have for sale, so maybe I'll get a little cash out of them and go shopping for some really high-end beads (or maybe just put the money in my drawer and save it for a rainy day).

Nice and very beautiful. You are right. Most folks want bid unless it's free. That doesn't save you any money but it does cost you in shipping and they don't understand how it works. All your auctions are super great auctions. Super seller.

It's an investment. I'm winning things that are worth more than the shipping I've paid for ... just have to keep your eye on the long-term!
