I was not sure either what a 585 marking on jewelry was so I just did a little research for you and here is what I found..... " 14kt can also be expressed as .585" here is the link to the precious metals site that I obtained the information from...

All I know from how this piece was described at the estate auction where we purchased it is that the chain is 14K white gold and the pendant has diamonds

Thanks for posting the 525 information I truly feel Listia is so much more than a simple Auction site some days I feel like I am in a class learning something new such as the information you posted another day I may be Congratulating a New Grand Maw&the next saying a prayer for a Family that has lost a Loved one but I can truly say how Grateful I am to one of my Grandsons Nurses that told me about Listia last Aug she was new&didn't know anything by mouth couldn't be listed&I told her I has CASES&CASES of many different types of Formula&Pediasure since my Grandson has had feeding problems from the day he was born in such Critical condition from Congenital CMV.org my daughter was a stranger victim in 9th grade just walking in the Library next to her School even at 4'7&67lbs showing no signs she was pregnant at all a cold sent her to the Dr&we left with a large amount of Ultra Sound Pictures&a due date 8 weeks&3days away that little piece of Gold is now 30 months old he is deaf, has cerebral palsy,a gtube to feed him which Santa brought him but that Nurse that told me what she thought was a simple Auction site where I could help families in need of Formula since our daughter never got WIC til this day he is on a prescription Milk I still have many cases of Formula&Pediasure but I have so much more than that I have many new friends&my grandson just got his first wheelchair at the same age I got mine amazing how things have changed in 45 years....Thank You

You are so welcome : ) I know what you mean about Listia being much more than an auction site and besides learning so much here I feel that it is more of a social meeting place than most of the social network sites. I have met & interacted with so many nice people on here and now use this site more than I do eBay and other auction formats which have become so cols and uncaring : (
