My friends husband dug this up on the Lakota ranch in Culpepper VA which is west of the Quantico Marine Base

History:
The battle of culpeper court house
Sept 13, 1863 near Culpeper Virginia between the cavalry of the union army of Northern Virginia. the union victory opened up the culpeper region to federal control, a prelude to the subsequent bristoe campaign

lol, wow. I lived in a house that was used as a hospital/morgue during the civil war, and the war was also fought on the property as well. Used to have handfuls of these bullets everywhere. Never thinking they would be worth anything, I cant tell you how many I threw in the garbage. Hindsite... go figure... Nice auction.

I would like a few for a hunting enthusiast friend of mine, he made his wife a windchime out of bullet casings. So this would be a rare windchime if I got him enough to make her one for Christmas :) can you get 5 or 7 or do you already have that many ?? I would not want the smooshed up one though. LOL
