Yes it can be torn up but it will take a long time to do it. I had a cane corse who was a power chewer and she had a 3 foot long one that she still had after 3 years, and its still in good shape.

He is going to have a hard time chewing this up. firehose material is very strong and durable. If he does chew it up it would suprise me.
