They did make a 1799 half dollar,RED BOOK is a Guide not a Bible. Check e-bay,...it would not be listed here and if he wanted to actually sell it he would answer questions and comments.I'd love to have this coin but currently out of my price range.Look right above the listing for the 1796-1797 if you are looking in a 2013 Red Book. Draped Bust 1796-1807. Rare, it is young padwan. It kinda looks like a Large novelty coin to me ,judging from the grain of the wood it is sitting on.I could be wrong,...we all could.I bought a Teen-aged Ninja Turtles #1 1st print at a super small flea market locally for 1$ 2 years ago.Made a mint off it.

they only made a 1799 draped bust silver dollar not a half dollar so its either fake or its a dollar and he thinks its a half. but if he doesn't show the back there's a reason most likely because it says "COPY" Under the eagle and I agree that it is in far to good of condition to be on listia seeing as if this WERE to be a real 1799 draped bust SILVER DOLLAR in au55 (just for example) it would be worth anywhere from $7,950 to $18,000 or more soooo yeah idk I doubt if someone has this coin and its real and they wouldn't put it on Listia they'd either keep it in their collection as a prized possession or they would sell it for a but load of cash. my best bet is its a fake or counterfeit since he won't show the back

not to mention any coin that's over 200 years old HAS TO HAVE SOME WEAR MARKS and would NOT be in that good of condition simply because 200 years ago even 100 years ago. no one really collected and saved coins like they do Noe a days that coin would have been spent over and over and over etc for 200 years and would not stay in that condition I just hate people who try and trick and take advantage of other people like grow up and be honest

Sorry, but this is a fake ...look at her mouth ...it is frowning ...classic common "Coyote" fake. I hate to add to the others opinions, but after researching ..the smile is way off. Real ones have her almost smirking/smiling. Look it up ... coyote fake draped bust. Man, that stinks ... I hate to even question or post ...but this is surely not correct and no answers to questions, no new pictures ...it all adds up. This listing should be more clear and picture the back ...but if you research you can see the stark differences just in the picture alone.
