SIDE---- 5 and a half inches wide

the strapes are short so when its on your shoulder the purse touches the arm pit. it has a zipper pocket on the inside on one side then two opened pockets on the other side on the inside. one zipper pocket on the outside. there is a little wear n tear on the straps at the buckle area(pictured). it had a long shoulder strap but i threw it away awhile ago. this is y the metal piece is on the wide part on each end.
