Description

The listing, Antique Relic 1800's (Civil War Era) Skeleton Key (Not a Replica) 。◕‿◕。 has ended.

1800's (Civil War Era) 2 1/2" inch Skeleton Key (Not a Replica) None of the Antique keys i own Have the same pattern On the key Bit part that fits into the key hole They are all distinctly different.and the Key Bits were hand filed shaped back then, Replicas have the same patterns in them, but as you know, If all keys have the same patterns, then everything can get robbed hence we have different key patterns :)
。◕‿◕。 this Key is 2 1/2 inches Long . Perfect for that handmade Necklace . a vintage craft, or part of your authentic Key collection.

This Key is the genuine thing. Not like the many replicas , that have been auctioned here on Listia. You can Have confidence and a Clear conscience when you use this on etsy or the other handmade sites. when you call your piece Antique handmade.

These were metel Detected and Dug Up At a Historic shipping Harbor in Boston, the dirt was cleaned off and the rust left, to keep its integrity, I bought these 5 years ago when i was collecting these to make ecclectic steampunk jewelry and crafts, i bought these from someone that sold a bunch of relics from the Harbor. he thought they were from a ship.I dont know if he authenticated them , and i didnt authenticate them , but took him at his word , because he had sold me a few relics that came from the ship harbor in his area.

Im hoping this key , does better then those replica keys that were auctioned on listia as antiques.. I have 10 out of 12 more keys from my treasured stash.I Sold 2 here already. If this key does ok, i will put up one more, if that one does ok, ill put up another. but if this doesn't do good, i wont be able to put up anymore.

Sorry I did not get right back to your answer. You say a vendor of sorts discovered these keys and guarantee that they are indeed antiques from the 1800's. Would you have the vendors name? The Civil war was only between 1861-1865. Are you saying that you have nailed this key down to have been made between 1861-1865? Or did the vendor say that. I am unclear about why you mention the Civil War.

I have given you my answers to your questions, to the best of my knowledge. yet you are still not satisfied. Everything I know is in the description of the key and what other info I already gave you. The shape of the keys were used in the CIVIL WAR ERA (I didn't say during the Civil War) and the locksmiths file shaped the bits to fit the locks and these keys' bits were filed into shape for the locks. All my bits are different from each other. Reproductions have the same molded bits. That's how you can tell the difference. That is all I can tell you. Make sure you read the description too. You can accept my answers or not, you can bid or not, I have nothing more to add.

Just a quick question (and probably a rediculous question at that! Lol) but I was wondering if the frame came with the key? I think u mentioned above that this auction was just for the key? Honestly- it doesn't matter to me because either way I'm going to bid (as soon as I can get enough credits :( ). My boyfriend collects keys because his last name is key (go figure lol!) I was thinking of buying a shadow box and putting this key in it if the frame comes with the key. If not- ill have to figure out a way to present it (and I'm not a very crafty person). Thanks ahead of time for your patience with me

no, sorry, that is actually just a graphic I made just to "frame" the key... this auction is ONLY for the key... I guess my created graphic is so good, people think it's an actual frame! :D but no, it's not a real frame, only a graphic I created as a background for the key, I made on Photoshop. But thanks anyway for your compliment! I hope you still want to bid on the key alone? :D

no not all the pictures are mine, just the first 2 are a picture of the relic key i have, the other pictures are for inspirations for what you can do with these keys , and the frame around the first picture is just a digital frame i put around the key with photoshop, thanks though, and thank you for coming , will check out your auctions in a minute , like i do when i can, for everyone that comes in here.
