The listing, "Look, Ma! No Cavities!" Anime Cel Unidentified has ended.
Here's lovely, hand painted anime cel from an unknown series. It is from Japan (naturally! lol), and very well done. It's fascinating to flip the cel over and see how the paint is layered from top to bottom, like beautiful ripples in the water. The douga (or pencil sketch) is not included, nor is a background. I keep my cels in protective cases, so they have not been exposed to the elements. The number you see on the cel is the timing number used by animators to place the picture in the correct numerological sequence.
This cel is a particularly nice one, so it must have been from a pretty good series. The painting is crisp and sharp. It is not stuck to the pink paper, I just used it to help show off the cel when I scanned it. Handsome fellow, isn't he? Judging from the style, I would assume the cel is from the late eighties, early nineties, probably a sci fi show.
I have a stack of unknown cels that I'll be weeding through, so if you like anime, this is a good way to build a little collection.
These cels look wonderful framed too! Each is a unique, hand painted piece of art in its own right. Just keep it out of the sunlight, or where it would get damp or cold.
