The game cartridge and activity pages are for use with the Whiz Kid system. The CD-rom is for use with your pc (Windows XP/2000/ME/98SE) The CD-rom is "for learning fun on the PC" We are installing the cd from my daughter's onto my son's pc (we had doubles. that's why it's listed). I'll update you through the comments section, once we find out more. (a few minutes or so)

We just finished installing the cd-rom onto the pc. It's games for the computer, but you have to connect the Whiz Kid system to the pc in order to play the games. So, Yes, you must have the system to use any of this product.
