The listing, Vintage Brooch has ended.

I don't know anything about this but I believe it was used as a pin at the top button of a blouse. However it can be used as a lapel pin. Very pretty red stone and pearl that is eyecatching. No marks on the back and the clasp is in excellent condition. It is just a pin that slides under the clasp type thing or whatever you call the catch for the pin. I tried to get pictures of the clasp but they did not come out very well.
