The listing, Size 7 14k White Gold & Real Diamonds has ended.

Ring is a size seven., Hallmarked EL then 10K. Hallmarks are deep and clear to read. The EL is in Block Print. I don't know if the stones are real or not so I'm calling them Rhinestones. No missing stones and it shimmers in the light. I do not know what the EL stands for except possibly the Makers Mark?

EL DOES NOT STAND FOR ELECTROPLATE FRIENDS! H.G.E (heavy gold electroplating) & G.E.P (gold electroplating) are different marks for plating.
EL are the makers mark.

I know exactly what you mean. I just had a ring sized up 1.5 size and it cost me 90 dollars! That's crazy! Now, I have lost weight on its too big. lol Oh well, I am not resizing again! I just put a gold band in front of it to hold it on. lol

Your so right on the prices for re sizing. I asked for a quote on another ring and was told it would cost me approx $162 plus $4 for each stone to be tightened up if any loosened during the re sizing. My finger joints are large and I asked on going up 4 sizes for me. Al, the someone was mistaken. EL does not refer to electroplated.

The federal regulations in the USA are much more clear, stating plated or such. Only rarely is plated or an abbreviation it actually used, mainly because costume jewelry (plated jewelry made of some non-precious base metal is costume jewelry) generally uses a plate too thin to qualify and meet minimum federal standards. On example which may be seen once in a while is HGE, meaning "heavy gold electroplate" and a mark fitting the legal regulations. There is a specific minimum thickness of plate to meet the standard to be marked HGE, a plate thicker than normal plated items contain. The HGE tells what karat of gold is used to make the plated layer which is usually 18k. So, the marking is 18k HGE. Too bad this is confusing and some folks believe quite understandably the item is 18k gold made by a manufacturer with the mark of HGE. I would change this one to avoid the confusion but I am not a federal regulation writer.

I would believe sight unseen that the ring is 10k gold. EL is in your case most likely the makers mark. Al, I hope this helps.
