I have a lot of beautiful wood furniture in my house and we bought it all long before we had a child. Luckily it was distressed wood, so it handles a few dings and scrapes well.

One way I have preserved it, and removed water marks is through a simple home made polish. It only costs a few pennies and is simple to make.

I will send you the instructions to make it, plus tell you a few of the ways I have removed water stains (though I do have one nasty one I have faded out, not removed)...all inexpensive and chemical free.
