I bought it used, then got the Xbox 360 version, so I never installed it. I know 2K dropped the DRM altogether in 2008, but prior to that it was limited to 5 installations. The Bioshock community web site has posted a "BioShock PC Activation Revoke Tool" which when used will "de-activate the current license on the computer contact the activation server to free up the activation, for future use."
