In 1939 Nazi Germany occupied and annexed part of Czechoslovakia historically inhabited predominantly by ethnic Germans.These areas where known as "The Protectorate of Bohmen and Mahren Chehya & Morava" after annexation.
Up through March 1942 stamps of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia had always been inscribed "Böhmen und Mähren" / "Čechy a Morava".
Beginning in April 1942 stamps were inscribed "Deutsches Reich" at the top and then "Böhmen und Mähren Čechy a Morava" in tiny letters at the bottom
In 1944 Grossdeutsches Reich replaced Deutsches Reich.
