Description

The listing, 1910 newspaper clipping Count D'Aulby Dr. Cook Santa has ended.

This is an authentic original newspaper article clipped from a December 1910 Kansas newspaper. On one side is a poem entitled "Santa Claus Discovered" and on the other side are brief stories of the day, including a piece on the trial of Count and Countess D'Aulby de Gatigny. The Count was later sentenced to a month in prison for swindling Duchess de Choiseul out of $200,000 in a picture scandal. There is also a small piece on Dr. Frederick A. Cook, who was an explorer who claimed to have reached the North Pole in 1908, a year before Robert Peary. At the bottom is an ad for Fig Syrup Laxative, and some stories on a monetary donation and a dead letter sale.

The newspaper clipping is in good condition: it is folded and very yellow with age. Please see my photographs for more information on the quality and condition of this item. Buyer will receive the clipping folded as-is, in a sealed plastic zip-loc bag.
