Description

The listing, Sterling Necklace and Pierced Earring Set has ended.

This is a pretty sterling set with sterling and turquoise colored beads. I don't know if they are real turquoise or not but I had the silver tested. The earrings are about 2" long and the necklace is 16". Nice!

I am so curious. How does one do a test to find out if silver is actually sterling? Thank you and have a peace filled day! :)

It is almost the same way you test for real gold. With acid. I don't know what kind of acid, but there is a different "strength" depending on what you are looking for, 14K, 24K, sterling, platinum, etc. You rub a small area of the piece on a flat testing stone. Then you apply the acid. For gold, you look to see if the acid "eats" the gold of if it remains. If it remains, it is real. For silver, you look for a change in color. Red means real! It's a great and inexpensive way to test your jewelry. You can pay a jeweler to do it or you can buy the kit. Thanks for asking......great question!
