The listing, Hard drive for laptop has ended.
640 gb Toshiba Laptop SATA Hard Drive, I won this on here, I wanted it for my son's PS3 and it is just a little too small so I'm putting it back in here and try to find a different one. I am relisting as I gave the winner their credits back and I got the hard drive back the winner said it would not format, don't know what that means but here it go's again!!
Questions & Comments
It's a TOSHIBA MK6476GSX 640GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive all you have to do is look up the model #
Your welcome :-) I'm not 110 % on what I said but I been around information technologies stuff for a while and I do computer related stuff for extra cash !!
Also all ps3s should have sata interface !! I would be tickled pink to have 640 gb hd in my ps3 cuz I only have stock 160 gb which is now down to roughly 100 gb or less !!
Everything I know has been from T & E !! Trial & Error :-) been around computers sense mom and step dad bought a computer when I was 7 in 1987 and I'm 33 now !! The old Commodore 64 / 128 but I didn't get really into this stuff til after I graduated high school in 1998 :-)
HaHa, if I learned anything at all from T & E, it would be don't drink and drive!!! I wouldn't be able to do anything if it weren't for having kids to help me out!!
It's clear as day a sata interface, ps3 takes a certain partition it's not like fat32 or the common ntfs people use now... But I bet if you hook it up with a PC that has sata connection you could format with a program like http://www.paragon-software.com/ and find a easy cloning software to clone the old ps3 if its still good and clone it with this hard drive !! The most common cloning program is norton ghost but they have alot of various programs out there that are freeware just do your homework everyone !! Good luck :-) to all
Thank you and I was looking in the Sony site this morning and it gives a list of all the different drives that are compatible with the ps3 and I did find another one in here that I bid on.
So would you want this hard drive back if someone wins and it won't format. I'm wanting to bid, but if it doesn't format than I would want my credits back.
Oh yes, if you want to try it and it doesn't work you will most certainly get your credits back, I had to give the last winner 20,000 credits back because they said it wouldn't format and I paid shipping to have it sent back to me.
my hubby runs a computer repair business..for a living. He stated if someone stated it will not format.. then the drive is probably no good. (faulty) Not to be a stick in the mud on your auction... you stated you didn't know what it meant. But if it will not format..it makes a great paperweight. lol But ya never know. Maybe the person who won it before - didn't know what they were doing. :) ~ Smile
Thank you and I am going to update because I don't want someone to waste their credits even though they get them back it takes a while, Lord knows I know all about that!!
I'm not sure how to do a GIN auction myself, but you usually have to be a good seller to be able to use that option. I'm just a buyer on here not a seller.
Usually when you first put an item up for bid, there's a GIN (Get It Now) what you do is put in however many credits you think the item is worth and someone else will be able to press the button and get the item right then and there. That means they won't have to wait for the auction to end. It benefits you too because than you don't have to wait days for your auction to end either.
