Description

The listing, LOVE LIES BLEEDING SEEDS (Amaranthus cauditis) has ended.

I am offering Love Lies Bleeding Seeds, the seeds are very tiny and reddish orange in color. They can be collected when the tassel turns dry and tan/brown, just strip the fuzz from the tassel into a bowl and use a small gauge sive to remove most of the shaff from the seeds, I have added pictures of the seeds, #4 is enlarged to show how many seeds you will receive and #5 is greatly enlarged to show how tiny the reddish orange seeds are (the light tan in the pictures is the shaff which is almost impossible to completely remove) they can be stored overwinter for spring planting either indoors or outside after danger of late frost. Pictures 2&3 are of a volunteer that came up in my giant Coleus Plants? Crimson tassels cascade to the ground from an exotic, showy, bushy plant. Tassels can reach 18" and last for many weeks and are excellent for cut and dried arrangements. They also look great as a hanging planter. Also called tassel flower, prince's feather and red cockscomb.

They are hardy in all USDA zones and love sun and long growing seasons, I am in zone 5 so I started mine indoors about 6 weeks before our last frost date, our growing season is not that long. They are considered Annuals, except in zones 10 & 11where they are perennial. they re-seed very easily so should not have to plant every year. good luck : )
