What do you mean nothing happened? Did you remove the card and try to read the photo in your computer?

I pushed the button on top to take a photo and nothing happened, no sound, no flash. I pressed the display button, nothing happened on the screen, but a sound was made. I removed the card, and the screen displayed "No card" before it went black.
I currently don't have a laptop running XP or lower, with a usb port, to test the card reader and cards.

This camera has a viewfinder and also a mode to take photos without the screen being on. If that works I would be interested . I don't need the screen.
