The envelope is sealed as I received it and unopened. I found a picture of the card enclosed in the envelope online so I would not have to open. I do not think opening the envelope would decrease it's collectiblitly but I will leave that to the winner to decide.


22k gold FDC stamp with a First Day Issue date of 1996. Canceled on the first day of issue from the U.S. Post Office and complete with a 22K golden foil replica of the original stamp. The descriptive card is a brief history about the stamp itself and the subject matter. It is unaddressed and does have the descriptive card.

FROM THE FOLK HEROES SERIES OF STAMPS, PECOS BILL IS AN AMERICAN FOLK HERO WHO'S CREDITED WITH INVENTING THE LASSO, THE SIX-SHOOTER AND MOST COWBOY TRICKS. HE CHASED ALL OUTLAWS OUT OF TEXAS, STAKED OUT NEW MEXICO AND FENCED IN ARIZONA.

Very nice item to frame if so desired. This is also a great item for a young beginning stamp collector or seasoned stamp collector. Would make a very unique and nice Christmas present for someone special.
