TYVM and your right the sky is the limit on starting bids : ) I never was able to find in the terms on Listia that we have to list a high end item for less than it's worth...LOL

I had a "10 kt" gold one similiar to this an got it on ebay for $40 plus $$'s over a year ago! Isnt 17,000 points on Listia aprox. $40? So startimg bid is Maybe $80 or so? This is 14 kt! Wow! So the "Skys the Limit!" If I be wrong-Wont be the 1st time-Ula

You are right and with the starting bid being approximately $80. We are taking a huge loss for what we actually paid for this if the auction ends at that, but that is the chance we are taking. I do bid on quite a few items on here but for the most part our credits are used to get Amazon gift cards and other items that the people we help may need at the time. Some members do not think before they speak and have no idea why I as well as others are even on this site and what we do here, as well as how or why are starting credits are so high on some items...

We offer free shipping when we can, but that is not always feasible and we do wholeheartedly apologize for this, but we do have overhead to consider

Our points and shipping charges are set to cover ONLY our bare minimum overhead

We are not here to make a profit, but rather to serve the good of those in need.....

What we do and why we labor to do it…

Our Fathers Sons is a Non-Profit Organization registered with the United States Government and founded upon Christian principles through the Universal Life Church. Our Fathers Sons long-term vision is a world where everyone's basic needs are met. To accomplish this in the short-term we provide necessities to those in need. Best of luck to ALL bidders!

16,000 credits for $40 not 17. Yes it's a beautiful ring, but with that kind of starting bid, you automatically rule out the small guy.. Just because we don;t have that kind of credits, doesn't mean that we are less interested, than the next person..
Sep 15th, 2013 at 2:24:21 PM PDT by

I realize that 16,000 credits sell for $40.00 from Listia, that's why I said "approximately" and in that discussion we were not trying to get technical on the price of credits. I understand that Just because you don;t have that kind of credits, doesn't mean that we are less interested, than the next person..

I am here to say that no matter how little or large amount of credits you have does not not make you less valuable or important to me, I value every member on Listia, we just do what we gotta do, but please keep in mind you are important and you are appreciated

F&W it's just my opinion, but if you have that much confidense in your items, and listing for the max days, you should need that kind of start bid.. it's a verry pretty ring, and I have no doubt that you'll get what your asking, but people like me, that don't have those kinds of credits, would atleast be able to try..

You are entitled to your opinion and I really appreciate you speaking your mind as we encourage all feedback...good as well as bad. Having confidence in my items and listing for the max days has nothing to do with my starting bid whatsoever.

I do have confidence in my items and I could have started the bid on this ring at 499 and saved spending listing credits and the auction could have ended at oh lets say maybe 1500 credits, then where would I be except further in the hole by taking a huge loss for what we paid for this ring. Why would I want to do that? I would not even entertain that idea because if that was the case I would have just listed on my eBay account for the full $300.00

One of the reasons that we pay Listia extra credits each month to have the option of the 21 day listing is so that those without enough credits have a fair shot at our items by giving plenty of time to earn more credits, we are working for the people here and that includes all Listia members. Like I said we could list on our eBay account and receive strictly cash for our items, but we choose to list here to help you all out and by doing so instead of cash we settle for credits and but Amazon cards with our points.

Thank you it is a very pretty ring

I believe the EMX to be the jewelers maker mark, and I purchased this at an estate sale as real diamonds

My pleasure to help you. Some people think if there is anything but 14k then it is plated, there is more times than not a makers mark with the 14k. Glad to be of service. F&W

Thank you for the link I checked it out but it is EM, not EMX....but by you providing the link gave me some ideas of other search terms to use and here is what I found

EMX
By: Matrix Creations, Inc.
jewelry, namley, rings, earrings, studs, pendants, bracelets and necklaces

EMX trademark by Matrix Creations, Inc. in New York, NY, 10017

On Thursday, March 02, 1995, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for EMX by Matrix Creations, Inc., New York, NY 10017. The USPTO has given the EMX trademark serial number of 74640995. The current federal status of this trademark filing is CANCELLED - SECTION 8. The correspondent listed for EMX is MOREY B WILDES of COWAN LIEBOWITZ & LATMAN, 1133 AVENUE OF THE AMERICAS, NEW YORK NY 10036-6799 . The EMX trademark is filed in the category of Jewelery Products . The description provided to the USPTO for EMX is jewelry, namley, rings, earrings, studs, pendants, bracelets and necklaces.

So the EMX hallmark in the ring is a makers mark

Thank you 02Knight for your information you have been very helpful : )

I love the Ring :) But I never heard of a Starting Bid being anywhere near this High. Are you auctioning this to be Solid Gold ? or Possibility of Being Gold Plated ? I don't know what the EMX stands for ?
Sep 14th, 2013 at 8:21:55 AM PDT by
Original
I am surprised you have never heard of a starting bid anywhere near this High. I am listing this just as it is Gold & diamonds, it is a high starting bid because that's how we choose to run our listing : ) This is Fine Jewelry NOT Costume jewelry hence the high starting bid : )

I do not know what EMX stands for either, I would think it's a makers mark but have no idea, if you are so inclined to and have time you could Google it maybe you can find an answer to your question. I could not find anything through my hours of research therefore, it is probably a makers mark

Thank you for all your concerns : )
