Recommended for children ages 3 and older and designed for 2 to 4 players, this My First UNO With Dora the Explorer is played much like the original version of UNO, only there are less cards with modified rules. According to product advertising, this is an easy-to-play, younger player's version of UNO featuring colourful characters from nickjr's Dora the Explorer. The king-size UNO cards enhance basic colour and number skills. The first player to get rid of all of his or her cards by matching numbers or colours wins! There are 36 jumbo sized laminated cards total in four face colors: yellow, green, red, and blue. And each color has numbers ranging from 1 to 7 with a different character found on each number. The backs of each card are red with a picture of Dora and her friend Boots as well as the phrases My First UNO and Dora the Explorer. These cards are larger than standard sized playing cards, which makes them easier for a preschooler's hands to hold on to. Children match colors, numbers, and/or characters during play as there's little reading involved: only number, color, and character recognition.
