The listing, VINTAGE 14KT GOLD WRITING PENS- PERFUMED W/ CHANNEL NO. 5 & ARPEGE has ended.
I found this in a storage locker that I bought. They are supposed to be perfumed writing pens but I don't smell anything. One is ARPEGE and other is CHANEL No. 5. They are marked 14KT GOLD. The pens are gold at top with black bottom. The bottom have gold design. If u have any questions feel free to ask. Thank u.
Questions & Comments
Nice listing. I have a few sets of these because I like them, but the gold rubs off when I use them, so these were likely never used. They may write, but the perfume would have evaporated by now and the ink wold quickly dry out when you start using them. You can replace the ink with a standard cartridge found at Staples, but the company no longer offers the perfumed replacements due to copyright infringement (Chanel is the company that really pushes it and removes them from eBay). They were a promotional piece in Macy's during the 60's through the early 90's. This box was the last one used so it would be late 80's/early 90's. The pens are gold filled for anyone considering scrap value...they are not scrap. They are nice pens to have and you can take apart any ink cartridge and perfume the ink quite easily. I have several without the perfume written on the pen and I switch the scents up.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know anything about them. I just don't like the way the company falsely advertised it by stamping the pens 14KT and box even states its 14KT when ur saying its gold filled. I think they should have put gold filled. I have a question since u have knowledge about pens. I have a Cross Century mechanical pencil that is stamped Rhodium. Is it real Rhodium?
I don't know about the pencil. I authenticate Chanel items. I have seen a lot of these pens. Typically, writing instruments are plated, but Cross makes some amazing pens so it could be either.
