Dennis Martinez was brought up in the best baseball environment a pitcher could ever hope to be in: on the orioles staff, which boasted Cy Young winners Jim Palmer, Mike Flanagan, and Steve Stone as well as other super arms like Mike Boddicker, Storm Davis, and Scott McGregor. After 108 wins as an Oriole, Dennis exploded in the NL with the Mpntreal Expos, becoming a perennial All Star and a Cy Young candidate himself. In 1991, he became the 13th pitcher in MLB history to author a perfect game, and returned to All Star form with the Cleveland Indians. He retired with 245 wins, having beaten Juan Marichal's record for most wins by a Latin pitcher.
