The Yellow Trinidad Scorpion is a natural variant of the Trinidad Scorpion. Being a yellow variety, it has a lower heat level and a fruitier flavor. The plant produces larger pepper pods than its red relative. It also is a more productive plant than the Red Trinidad Scorpion.

Scoville Heat Units : 400,000 - 600,000

These rare chillis are ready to harvest in 80 - 100 days. I live in USDA Zone 8b/9a and my pepper bushes are hardy.

I often have bad luck getting and saving peeper seeds, do you wait until the peppers dry on the plant before harvesting the the seeds?

No. Doing so can make the seeds vunerable to fungal diseases. The seeds need to have anything grossly liquid to be rinsed from them and the seeds then dried . . . a good test is to see if any of them stick to one another. Before storing the seeds make sure that they do not stick to each other. Another good thing is to dust the exterior of the seeds with ground cinnamon which is a natural antifungal agent. I use about 1/8th teaspoon of ground cinnamon to 1/2 cup of pepper seeds . . . you do not need much.

Do you have really good success growing the pepper seeds you saved? I have found the only success I have had is letting peppers dry on the plants, never had fungus problems, and most pepper seeds if gotten from here have been immature.

You haven't got any immature seeds from me, though, Iris.

Yes, I really have had good success growing these peppers from the seeds I saved.
