Catherine, i know the one set and it only is 2 pieces big pieces and if the yellow is complete it has 2 smaller pieces of "rock" that comes off when the trains hit a certain spot...they fold up and are portable....my son has like 5 or 6 of the Take N Play sets....and i am assuming the one with the figure 8's is at least 1 piece as well...

Catherine...The pieces are attached to each unit. Not sure how many are on each. I cant find the rock that aries1984 has spoken about.
