They might have replaced the drive and that wont work because the software isn't the same so its pretty much screwed unless u send it to get fixed for About $200 Microsoft did that for a reason. Unless u go buy another motherboard and dvd drive that match up

if it plays dvds and not games then you have a drive that doesnt match up to the mother board. that might be y it wont play games

This Xbox has no internal hard drive. As you can see from the fourth picture from the left the hard drive is placed on the side of the Xbox.
