The listing, How to Make Walnut Ink, a recipe via email has ended.
Way back before computers and the printing press books were actually written by hand. Oak gall ink and walnut husk ink were used int he beautiful calligraphy and illumination that made up those manuscripts. Here is a recipe for making walnut ink, which can be used for calligraphy (a lovely brown), dying wool and other natural fibers (toast to dark brown depending on how long its in and what fiber it is) and for drawing and painting in washes. If you like DYI projects but want to invest no to next to no money in them, pick up some walnut husks and follow these instructions. Email only.
