The regular choker chains without the prongs are actually more dangerous than this prong collar. A choker doesn't apply an even amount of pressure and is known to snap a dogs trachea. This prong collar makes and even amount of pressure and is much safer. It shouldn't hurt the dog, and it's not meant to CHOKE the dog. It should be a quick pull and release that's all! Put one around your arm you'll feel pressure not pain. It's only used for training and walking other than that it should stay off the dog. It should be fitted correctly and placed at the TOP of the neck just right behind the ears. This is actually much safer than a choker collar or shock collar! The only thing that makes it dangerous is when it's used wrong by an idiot. They look scary sure but don't judge everything by looks!

These are painless training collars. I've tried it on my arm at pet smart and you only feel pinches when it tightens. All you animal advocates need to stop hiding behind a computer and think before you type.

Ok to everyone who is judging the collar, if used properly these are great training tools, they do not hurt the dog. U can put it on ureslf and it won't hurt. To the dog it's like a small pinch. Now to the seller whats the inches for this collar? If it's the right size ill bid. I have 3 already and need another one since I have 4 GSDs

this collar worked great on my dog, this is the second one I had that was to small, my dog is a rotti that was uncontrollable because of ignorant people that get dogs and not invest time to care for them properly. I also have a dog training book listed. my dog it my best friend and now does not pull my arm off trying to walk her n listens very well. I love my dog n would never do anything to cause her harm. this was recommended by my dog trainer.
