The listing, Ocean Art Necklace has ended.
The substrate is soft turquoise-colored leather and the "focal" is made of clear resin in which one starfish, a shell and a few pieces of blue sea glass are imbedded. Encircling it is a free-formed "implied" frame with some coral beads, a pearl (albeit a fresh-water pearl) and twisted colored jute cord.
I sanded the top of the resin focal lightly so it would look a tiny bit murky, as if the froth of a wave is slightly obscuring the shell and starfish. The natural color and texture of the braided and knotted necklace portion is intended to be reminiscent of the material of fisherman's nets. Adorning the attachment of the necklace is a slice of a cowrie shell.
One dangle has 2 beads and 2 pieces of sea glass, terminating in a wire wrap spiral, significant of the dazzling Nautilus shells in the ocean. A piece of white coral is attached atop the more "organic" dangle of colored jute.
