Rolex "Oyster Perpetual" Day-Date Watch
Superlative Chonometer- Official Certified

I got this from an estate sale and have no knowledge of it's history. It has been examined by several jewelers and I have gotten mixed reviews stating that it is either a low end Rolex to a high end reproduction.

What I do know is that it is a mans watch,it does work perfectly. It does have 8 Diamond (type) jewels on the face. It is gold tone and silver tone in color. I also note that the clasp on the band is loosley locking.

I make no claims as to it being genuine as I can't back that up. If you bid and win, it is yours and i will not make any refunds on this particular auction as a result of it's origin. I will however still stand by my normal standards as to delivery and to the item being exactly as described.

This item will be sent delivery conformation and insured. I Will accept Paypal, US Postal Money Orders or Concealed Cash (US) for shipping charges. .

I do all shipments once a week to combine shipping on multiple winners and to make just one trip to the Post Office.

ahhh well if the day and date doesnt switch at the same time then it would be a replica. even though it is still a nice watch, and im keeping an eye on it.

well one jeweler said that the other said it could just that it is from the early 70's and a little worn. One of the many conflicting stories, And unless you are a Rolex dealer...there is no way to tell. Here in my part of NC here are no Rolex dealers.

The pics seem to show 2 different watches, one has gold toned band, other has silver toned band, most pics seem to have same time on them, but 1 pic the time is totally
different than other's

hey nice watch you have there. when you are setting the time does the day and date change right at midnight, or does it take a couple hours afterwards for one or the other to change?
Dec 18th, 2010 at 6:14:07 AM PST by
Original
I never paid attention to how long after midnight the date or day changed, I do know that when setting them you turn forward until the right date, then in reverse to get to the right day, then forward again to get the right time. It took me taking it to the firsr jeweler to figure it out. And the the journey started.

You will? never find the day? and the date on a rolex in stainless steel, they only make those in solid 18kt gold and in white gold. Anywho, nice watch. Will be watching.

does it have a number on the side of the watch ? it will be behind the strap and ther for hard to see so you might have to remove it. the back of the watch should have a green sticker and no markings. there should be a number on the strap as well. what is the shipping cost to canada? thanks
Dec 10th, 2010 at 9:54:37 PM PST by
Original
no , I don't ship to Canada. Customs permit too costly. I am not removing anything from this watch to look for #'s. It has been to several jewelers and I told what was said.

Dec 10th, 2010 at 8:45:26 AM PST by

no it does not run on a battery it is perpetual motion that keeps it going ...I always called that self winding , but they have a fancy ass name for it.
