Offering 10 Cantaloupe Vine Peach Seeds. I have never tried these but next year I am going to plant some, anyone else up to trying these? The following information is what I learned on my internet search.
Cucumis melo. Plant produces peach shaped cantaloupes. The melons are the same size and color as tree peaches. Vine Peaches make excellent preserves and pies, and have a vine-ripe flavor and texture much like a mango.Vine peach cantaloupe seeds require a warm soil to germinate. Wait until the soil warms to 70 to 90 Fahrenheit to plant melon seeds. It also said they are ready for harvest in 60-90 days. Sow vine peach cantaloupe seeds directly into the garden bed. Create 1/2- to 1-inch-deep furrows in your garden bed, and space each furrow 5 to 6 feet apart. Sow two to three seeds every 18 to 24 inches. Cover over the furrow with soil to complete planting. Then water the newly planted seeds until they become moist. "This variety was very popular in Victorian times for making sweet pickles, pies and preserves. They were developed in China and introduced into America in the 1880's. In the Orient this type of melon is pickled.
