The listing, Tons of Moon Flower Pods and Seeds has ended.
My Moonflowers almost are ready to be harvested as far as the pods. Sometimes they do turn brown after awhile and burst on their own on the plant, but there is a good way to save more of the seeds. I take the pods off when they grow at their biggest in September or more less. I pick some of the best pods off the stems. I don't throw them away, I save them and let them burst off the vine. They will still grow from those seeds next year, I have done it with many plants before.
These are the pods with seeds in them that you will be bidding on. I have taken them off as green and they are fairly large pods. They will be fine and still produce seeds. You should keep them in a dark and dry area with protection from dogs or cats. Check on them after a few days at a time to see if any burst, they take time sometimes (sometimes even up to a month from now) but you will have plenty of seeds for next Spring. They will eventually burst and then you can pick the seeds out. The seeds will be a brownish color when ready. You should dry the seeds out on a paper towel for a day before saving them.
The pods can be as big as 1 1/2" in diameter with cool spikes on them. You will get a ton of seeds from this harvest. Keep away from children and animals.
I'll fill up a medium flat rate box with them, so you know you'll be getting alot of pods with seeds.
