Called "Hopalong", just like the fictional Cowboy, Cassady was the Heisman Trophy winner in 1955.
Pictured here with his alma mater, Ohio State, Cassady was the 3rd overall pick by Detroit in the 1955 draft. He spent 8 of his 9 NFL seasons as an all-purpose back for the Lions, scoring 27 touchdowns. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
