The listing, Beautiful Vintage Tiger's Eye and Gold pin has ended.

Beautiful vintage gold pin with a large tigers eye gemstone as its focal point. Back is marked with the word "Sterling". It was my grandmothers and according to her she had purchased it in the 1940's-1950's.Making this a true vintage piece.

Does this have some kind of catch (how does it stay on)?

it does not have a catch.it is classified as a hat pic...the end of it is sharp.My grandmother would put her hat on and position as she wanted it to stay.Then she would feed the pin in the hat and under her hair and back out the other side of the hat. Thanks for the information! It seems kind of dangerous for the point to be sticking out of the hat, but they probably didn't give it a second thought back then. LOL!

its not really dangerous because even though it is a point it is a blunt enough tip you wont be stabbed.And you can sometimes find on ebay where they sell hat pin tip covers
