They are plastic. I'm not sure there is anything different, just the size.

Yes! They are completely waterproof.

Yes they do. We had to get some smaller ones because my son's waist was too small, but they prevented nighttime accidents for us.

They are awesome. We have them on both our kids. We tried disposable on the new baby, and changed back to cloth again as our daughter was clothed. And we swear with these over the diaper never have leaks. Great auction here.....
