The listing, 1898 Battleship Maine Class Documentary Stamps has ended.

Five different 1898 Battleship Documentary stamps including 1/4 cent, 1 cent, 1 1/4 cent. 10 cent, and hard to find 25 cent. Please enlarge to see actual stamps the winner will receive. As with all of my stamp auctions, the winner will receive free bonus stamps.

Questions & Comments

The 1898 stamp features a picture of a battleship of the Maine class. The USS Maine blew up in Havana Harbor resulting in the Spanish-American War in 1898 making the stamp especially timely for the era. Early reports suggested a bomb placed by the Spanish destroyed the ship but many believe it was an engine accident that caused the loss of the ship. In any case, an interesting set of stamps.
