I'm not sure - i've had it for at least 15 years... as far as any older, i couldn't say with any certainty... i did clean it with silver cleaner and that made it very shiny, but i have no way of verifying whether or not it is actually silver. silver cleaner usually causes pitting in things that aren't silver, in my experience.
