It saves perfectly. Before putting this up here I was getting all the starter Pokemon and transferring them over to Pearl so I can have them ready for X & Y. :)

Just that times events won't occur until you change the batteries, like growing berries and such.

yeah all that means is no berries no dark and day time and no bug catching contest. aaaaaand you can't get the 3 legendary rock pokemon. They require time based events

the 3 legendary rock pokemon you can get eventhough the internal battery has run out because I know cause have a pokemon ruby version wioth the internal battery dead and still caught the 3 legendary rock pokemon
