Silver plated jewellery does indeed tarnish over time. This normally occurs when the silver material gets in contact with the ozone, hydrogen sulphide or sulphur; it loses its lustre and begins to look dull and murky. There are several tarnish resistant that that can protect silver plated materials to prevent long term tarnishing such as Rhodium. Its a beautiful piece!!!!!
